m.i.p.a. Award for Warwick Hellborg Amp
The Warwick Hellborg Amp received the coveted m.i.p.a. Award for “Best Bass Amp 2007/2008“ at this year's Frankfurt Musikmesse! Just a few months earlier the Warwick Hellborg Amp had won The Editor's Choice Award from Bass Player Magazine (USA).
100 pro magazines from all over the world had to vote for the best product in more than 40 categories. Each individual musical instrument and pro audio product was reviewed by these 100 magazines in over 30 countries. This supports the idea that the m.i.p.a. (Musikmesse International Press Award) award is considered the “Grammy“ of the musical instruments and pro audio industry.
Warwick couldn't be happier to have received this highly prestigious and important award and that the Warwick Hellborg Amp was voted “Best Bass Amp 2007/2008“ by more than 100 pro magazines from over 30 countries.

“I have never encountered an amp that sounds like the Warwick Hellborg. It's actually very hard to attribute its unique sound shaping to a single design feature but it's very easy to verify the results from those design concepts. The amp has a remarkable feeling: the tremendously quick attack is surrounded by a plush tone curve that creates a gentle tube-like sound character without any mud when turned up loud. The EQ is seamlessly integrated. Although the preamp is not influenced when using the Flat setting I generally prefer to play the amp with the EQ turned off.“

Framus and Warwick Custom Shop Wood of the Month: Mahogany Pommelé
The Framus and Warwick Custom Shop expanded its wood selection with an additional exotic wood variety: mahogany pommelé. This exclusive option is available now for all Warwick and Framus Custom Shop instruments.
“Mahogany pommelé“, doesn't that sound promising and mysterious at the same time? This type of mahogany ranges predominantly from The Ivory Coast through Ghana all the way to Uganda . Since this wood can easily be found in that region it is not classified as an endangered species. These trees can grow up to 60 meters tall, of which 30 meters are branch-free. This special tone wood has in very rare occasions an extremely unusual grain. This grain can only be recognized only by a wood specialist looking at a standing tree.
Our extraordinary batch of mahogany pommelé was found in Gabun in the Ogooué basin. The transport of this wood was not easy because it meant using helicopters to get the trunks out of the forest area in order to avoid disturbing the delta vegetation. The wood arrived in Germany per sea vessel and was then specially cut for our custom shop under the supervision of Warwick specialists.
